What is a QR Code?
QR Codes (Quick Response Codes) are two-dimensional bar codes that contain alphanumeric text and often direct users to URLs where they can learn more information about a product, service, object or place. QR Codes were created by a Japanese company in 1994 to help track inventory levels and have since transformed into a new and creative tactic utilized by marketers around the globe. The codes represent considerably more data than one-dimensional barcodes and are decoded using software commonly found on camera phones. This practice is referred to as “mobile tagging” (watch video above).
How to Use QR Codes?
1. Install a free QR Code reader for your mobile phone.
2. Using the reader software, take a photo of the QR Code.
3. Enjoy the experience.
How Do I Download a QR Code Reader for My Phone?
To download a QR Code reader for your phone go to: http://get.beetag.com or http://reader.kaywa.com. (Note: Not all phones are compatible with QR Code readers. Both of these websites will check your phones compatibility. Keep in mind, your phone must have a camera and Internet service through your cell phone provider.)
